Icon Image Treadmills
If you haven’t heard of an Icon Image treadmill just yet, you aren’t alone. Image is a line of treadmills produced by Icon, which is the same company that puts out the NordicTrack series. NordicTrack has become a household name known around the world, but the Image line hasn’t received as much attention. That is unfortunate since they offer the same high quality fitness equipment as the more popular brother name.
Consumers who buy Image treadmills are looking for comfort features that make working out fun, high quality motors and parts, and a powerful, smooth ride. The brand delivers all of that at affordable prices for most consumers.
One of the most basic models that falls within the lower price range of the market is the Image 17.5 S Treadmill. It has a 2.75 HP motor that is powerful enough for users up to 275 pounds to walk or jog lightly. It is capable of going up to 10 mph and with a 10% maximum incline and the motor is backed by a 3 year warranty.
Comfort features on this model are not too shabby either, with 6 preprogrammed workouts, including half hour programs that allow you to burn up to 600 calories at once. What you won’t find here are the advanced technological features that are offered on more advanced models, such as the Image Advanced 1400 Treadmill from Icon Health.
The Advanced 1400 still sells under the $1,000 mark, but is a lot more feature-rich. For starters, it has 10 preprogrammed workouts plus is compatible with iFit workout card technology. This system allows users to purchase separate workout cartridges that plug directly into the console and deliver personal trainer instruction, including audio instruction and encouragement.
This one is suitable for users up to 300 pounds and comes with a 12 year warranty on the motor only.
Still more advanced in the features is the Icon Health and Fitness Image Advanced 2200 Treadmill. It comes with a powerful motor that can support active workouts by users up to 350 pounds. The long 20” x 60” belt ensures even taller users can achieve their natural gait comfortably.
This one will go up to 12 mph with a maximum 12% incline. Best of all, it comes with a 7” flat screen TV built directly into the console. It also has a nice 20 year warranty on motor with 1 year on parts and labor.
Icon Image treadmill reviews written by consumers with firsthand knowledge of these products tend to favor the higher priced models more, though they do give the lower end models great ratings for what they deliver in that price range as well.
Before purchasing an Icon Image treadmill make sure to compare to the other treadmill lines put out by this company. NordicTrack tends to be higher priced but will give you an appreciation of the value you get with the Image line.
