Weslo Treadmills
Weslo treadmills are probably the most bought brand. Weslo treadmills are cheap - in fact, they're the cheapest on market. The affordability of a Weslo treadmill certainly explains its popularity. But, it isn't just the cost that makes The Weslo Cadence treadmill a best seller: it's value for money.
Weslo treadmills maybe be cheap but they are made by Icon Health and Fitness, which is by far the biggest manufacturer of exercise equipment in the world. We've all heard of its other brands like Weider, Reebok, Proform and Image to name but a few.
It would be unreasonable to compare a Weslo treadmill with other high-end exercise treadmills that cost thousands of dollars. Reviews of treadmills can only be done when you have first contrasted; then you can compare equipment that is similar. However, it is somewhat difficult to rate a Weslo treadmill against another brands because there just aren't any that fall into its price range.
Many reviews of the Weslo give it a poor rating. But this is unfair, even just plain silly, as they often compare a Weslo to a top rated treadmill like a Bowflex.
It's hard to make a robust, hard-wearing treadmill that can stand up to the most demanding conditions for under a $1,000. If you're looking for a treadmill that can take a serious pounding then the Weslo exercise treadmill isn't for you.
But not everyone can justify paying thousands of dollars for a machine they only want to use part-time. A Weslo treadmill is perfect for those who are just starting out on an exercise program and are looking for a machine for walking or very light jogging.
What follows is a quick assessment of the various models of treadmills by Weslo.
Weslo Cardio Stride Plus WLTL0153
This machine costs as little as $99. It's for those wanting a quick, though not too demanding, workout. It features a Step-by-Step™ Console with an extra-large LCD display, a three-position incline with dual flywheel and SpaceSaver® design. This is a Weslo manual treadmill; there's no motor. The action of the belt feels smooth and the treadbelt moves nice and evenly.
Weslo Cadence C22 Treadmill WLTL1932
This is a good introductory treadmill costing around $200. It's ideal for walkers. It comes with an easy speed dial so you can gradually adjust your pace. The Step-by-Step™ Feedback Console display lets you keep track of speed, time, distance, calories and fat calories burned. There are three incline positions (5, 7 and 9%) to mix up the resistance during your workouts. The motor speed is 0-5 mph and the treadbelt is 13" x 40".
Weslo Cadence G-25 Treadmill WLTL19105
This Weslo treadmill comes with a slightly faster motor; 0-6 mph. The treadbelt is a little bigger as well; 13" x 43". Apart from these, you get the same features of the Cadence C22 treadmill. Strangely, it comes at the same price of the C22!
Weslo Cadence C44 Treadmill WLTL29305
This is for those who want to do more than just walk. It features a 2.25 THP Impulse drive system, Comfort Cell™ cushioning, digital speed and an EKG™ Heart Rate Monitor. The treadbelt is longer - to accommodate running - and is 47" long. It has a 0-10 MPH digital speed control and a 3, 6 or 9% incline. The C44 Weslo treadmill comes with a 1 year warranty, which is a better warranty than the other models.
If you're going to buy a Weslo treadmill for around $200, you should opt for the G-25 rather than the C22. They cost the same but you get more with the G-25, including a better warranty.
The biggest criticism of Weslo treadmills is the warranty that comes with them. The C44 only comes with a one year warranty. Most other quality manufactures are now offering 5 year, 10 year or even lifetime warranties.
Weslo treadmills are for those who have a limited budget, or can't justify spending large amounts of money on an piece of exercise equipment, or if they aren't sure that they're going to use a treadmill long term, or for a runner who occasionally wants to run indoors. Weslo treadmills are cheap but they proving to be a popular choice and that's because they offer real value for money.
